Local authors talk about their books and the outsiders that inhabit them!
Mystery author Andrew Welsh-Huggins and historical fiction author Linda Kass kick off our Summer Reading Club with short talks about their books and outlier characters!

Linda Kass is the author of three historical novels, Tasa’s Song (2016); A Ritchie Boy (2020), an IPPY Gold Medal Winner in Historical Fiction in 2021; and Bessie, named the Prose Finalist for the eighth annual Phillip H. McMath Post-Publication Book Award. She is well known around Central Ohio for her civic leadership, her strong advocacy of education, literacy, and the arts, and as the founder and owner of Gramercy Books, an independent bookstore located just east of downtown Columbus. Between writing and selling books, she’s also an assistant editor for the online literary magazine, Narrative, is a member of the Editorial Board of Trillium, a regional imprint of The Ohio State University, and serves on both the Ohio State University Foundation and Kenyon Review boards. Linda began her career as a magazine journalist and correspondent for regional and national publications.
Andrew Welsh-Huggins is the Shamus, Derringer, and ITW-award-nominated author of the Andy Hayes Private Eye series, including the upcoming Sick To Death, and editor of Columbus Noir. Kirkus called his latest crime novel, The End of The Road, “A crackerjack crime yarn chockablock with miscreants and a supersonic pace.” His short fiction has appeared in multiple magazines and anthologies. His nonfiction book, No Winners Here Tonight, is the definitive history of the death penalty in Ohio.
